RICHARD POWELL

I went to school with Dick at Central Missouri State University. We were always competitive about grades. I believe he got one B in his masters program in industrial safety. Interestingly, he student taught at my high school, Crawford High, in San Diego. My JV football coach, Jim Romig, helped him get a job with the National Park Service. Dick was a rower for the San Diego State rowing team. He was a jogger and always in great physical shape. He was a friend. Also, my dad was in Death Valley prospecting just before Manson's arrest. He didn't meet Charlie, but did meet several of his female followers. RIP my old friend and classmate.

Dick was a good friend of mine at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. Super smart and hard working. He student taught at my high school, Crawford, in San Diego when I was a student there. Sorry I missed seeing him before he died.
