Richard Pozza Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 13, 2025.
Richard R. Pozza, 84, passed away on April 5, 2025, in Palos Park, Illinois. Rich was born on March 14, 1941, in Chicago and later moved to Oak Forest, Illinois to raise his family. Rich lived a life marked by dedication to his craft, devotion to his family, and a spirited personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

A proud Navy veteran, Rich served his country with honor before embarking on a long and accomplished career as a skilled pipefitter. His work ethic was unmatched. Whether on the job or at home in his workshop, Rich's talent and determination were evident in everything he did.

Rich was known for his wit and stubborn streak-qualities that made him both endearing and unforgettable. He had a sharp sense of humor that could lighten any room and a tenacity that carried him through life's challenges. Beyond his professional skills, he found joy in playing the drums, woodworking projects, tending to his garden, and watching golf.

He is survived by his beloved wife Jan; his children Jeff (Kim), Julie (Keith) Blair, Joanna Basile, and Jaime Basile; grandchildren Kayla, Ty, Jennifer, Nicholas, Caleb, Gia, and Matthew; and great-granddaughter Nevaeh. He was preceded in death by his first wife Noreen and son Jerrod.

A brief memorial service honoring Rich's life will be held on April 18, 2025, at 11:15 AM at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, located at 6001 W 111th Street in Oak Lawn, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Lung Association to honor the memory of Richard R Pozza.

Rich will be remembered for his strength of character, unwavering work ethic, and the love he shared with those around him. Rest in peace, Rich, and may your spirit shine bright in the hearts of those who loved you and the memories bring comfort to all who knew you.

Found more photos. Here's a few more with Matthew.
He used to do his version of Weekend at Bernie's on command for me. I found one with one of his "pipefitting caps."

We had alot of laughs. He also loved to holler at me about the lawn. I just remembered yesterday how I accidentally cut his extension cord while trimming their bushes. We didn't tell him, we just secretly replaced it.
I miss our daily talks. And the way he chuckled. He was one of my best friends, and he is sorely missed.
Thank you for everything you did for me, for us. I loved being your daughter, and I will love you always.
