I have lost a life long friend. My folks moved into Dick´s neighborhood when I was 6 years old and Dick and I became fast friends. He was a big part of my first 25 years of history. We shared a love of biking and learned to ride backwards sitting on the handlebars. We loved exploring the woods, climbing trees, talking into the wee hours in our sleeping bags on the lawn making up stories and laughing while watching the shooting stars, building fires, lots of swimming, and exploring the Puget Sound beaches. As teens, we shared the love of cars and boating with our runabouts. We attended WSU together for two years and after college we got together for an occasional hike. I was an usher at his first wedding. Later in life we reminisced about all of our shared adventures and discussing the books we had read. Dick was athletic and kept himself in shape until he couldn´t. He put up a courageous fight to defeat his cancer with no whining. Rest in peace my dear friend. I will miss you dearly.

What a hole the loss of this incredible human leaves on this earth. My sincere condolences to the entire Prine family. Mr. Prine was an exceptional person, a fantastic swim coach and a kind and inspirational leader.

This is a heartbreaking loss. Dick (or Dickie as my dad affectionately called him) was undoubtedly a great person, community member, friend, coach, proud WSU alum, and storyteller. An absolute legend. I´m forever thankful for his unbreakable friendship with my dad, but also my entire family. We all loved him and are grateful to have had him our lives and we are all better for it. The Starks are thinking of the extended Prine Family and send our sincerest condolences.

My father in law and one of my favorite people on the planet! Thank you all the memories! Especially the windy bike ride from Tucson where we met and you introduced me to your daughter, the love of my life. You will be Forever in my heart.
