RICHARD "FLASH" RECTENWALD

Dad was a great man, father, and grandpa. I will miss most our Sunday dinners, vacations, card games with he kids, and simply just being in his presence. He was smart and ornery and funny and truly the only person who you could truly sit in a comfortable silence with. I'm relieved he is no longer suffering and shattered that he isn't with us anymore. I'm so grateful for the time I had with him and know he is forever with us... In our hearts....

Uncle Flash loved music, especially the blues. I remember hanging out with him listening to some great music at different Pittsburgh venues. We had lots of fun together.
Whether it be listening to music, family visits or anything else, I will miss him very much.

I love you, Uncle Flash.

Thank you for being such a special part of my life.
I hope wherever we go from here, there are some great guitarists playing for you!

I always loved having him over for Sunday dinner. Sunday's will never be the same, nor will our life without him. Cards, dinner, vacation, hockey and football will never be the same without him, but the love and respect for this man will never change. It was an honor to know him and be in his life. Rich, you gave me the best thing that has ever happened to me, your daughter, and I am eternally grateful. I love you and I miss you pops.
