Richard Rosenkranz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 6, 2025.
Our beloved father and grandfather Richard (Dick) Carl Rosenkranz passed away on April 19, 2025, in Issaquah, Washington. Dick was preceded in death by his wife Joyce. He is survived by his children Sue Rosenkranz, Rick Rosenkranz (Sandy), granddaughter Kayla Lemon (Josh), great-grandson Jordan Lemon, and fiancée Iko Shioji.

Born in Yakima, Washington, on June 10, 1928, the earliest memories he shared with us were the antics he and friend Bill Houghton got into while working his first job in a paint store. Dick graduated from the University of Washington in 1949 and afterwards served in the Air Force. From 1953 to 1990, he worked at Boeing from Seattle (Go Huskies!), New Orleans (Go Saints!), and Seattle again (Go Seahawks!). After retiring, Dick volunteered at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue WA for 29 years; founded the BelPres Trombones; and served on the advisory board of the Salvation Army Eastside Corp, Bellevue, Washington.

Dick will be remembered for his faith; the delight he took in music, tennis and golf (the outdoor game and the card game); his delicious margaritas; his gifts of flowers, jokes, Lamb Chop stuffies and birthday serenades with his trombone; his love for his family and his fiancée Iko; and for building thriving communities everywhere he went, most recently at Timber Ridge in Issaquah.
