Richard Rugaber Obituary

Richard Monroe Rugaber, 92, a resident of St. Simons Island, died Friday,
November 5th, 2010. Mr. Rugaber was a native of Toledo, Ohio and had
been a resident of St. Simons since 1996. He attended Purdue University
and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. He was an
entrepreneur in Miami and in the banking and financial services industry
in West Palm Beach, FL. Locally, he was a member of the Sea Island,
Newcomers' and Shore Birds' Clubs, an avid tennis player and a Life
Master at bridge.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth Fisher Rugaber of St. Simons Island;
sons, Spencer Rugaber (Susan) of Atlanta, Howard Rugaber (Patricia)
of St. Simons Island; grandaughters, Clarissa Hobson (Mike) of Colorado
Springs, CO and Emily Rugaber of Boulder, CO; cousin, Marian Smith
(George) of Hilton Head; nephews, Jack Bell (Anna) of Gainesville,
FL and Robert Fisher (Cathy) of Sea Island; and niece, Ken Gearon
of Atlanta.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, November 9th at
Christ Church, Frederica with Father Douglas Renegar officiating. The
family will receive friends at Marsh's Edge after the service. In lieu
of flowers, the family requests contributions to CASA Glynn, P.O. Box 145,
Brunswick, GA 31521 or Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway,
Brunswick, GA 31525.

My deepest sympathy for your loss. Sorry I never met him, only knew him as Howard's dad, but surely he was a very special person. May he rest in God Kingdom forever.
