Richard P. Schuler, 82, of Mansassas, Va died Sunday at Novant-Health Prince William Medical Center, Manassas, VA. His beloved wife the former Anna "Scotty" Zigmont, died September 2, 1995. Richard was born in Silver Hill, MD the son of the late Max Gustav and Jane (Jennie) Cornwall Schuler. He resided in Southern MD, Pocono Summit, PA, and for the last eight years in Manassas, VA. He was a graduate of Surattsville High School, Clinton, MD. Richard proudly served our country with the US Navy. He retired from the IBEW Union, worked for Local #26 and Local #81. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Taylor and was a member of the American Legion, Pocono Lake, PA. Richard enjoyed playing horseshoes and was an avid Washington Redskins fan. He looked forward to his trips to Myrtle Beach and all its tranquility. Surviving are four daughters, Ann E. Mitchell and husband, Melvin, Fernandina Beach, FL; Nancy M. Cooper and husband, Dan, Charlotte, NC; Janet C. Miller and companion, Peter Bernard, Waldorf, MD; and Patricia J. Schuler, Manassas, VA; four sons, Richard P. Jr. and wife, Teri, Bowie, MD; Michael P. and wife, Kelly, Clinton, MD; Terrence J. and wife, Mary, Pocono Summit, PA, and Jeffrey J. and wife, Joyce, Ashburn, VA; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Caputo, Ridgecrest, California; a companion of seven years, M. Jean Callahan, Manassas, VA; Nieces and Nephews. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Caputo and Anna Stanford; and a brother, Max. The funeral will be Saturday from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union Street, Taylor at 9:30 a.m. followed by Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Oak St., Taylor. Interment with military honors will be in the parish cemetery. Family and Friends may call Friday 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Parastas services will be at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O.
