Dear Libby,
So sorry to hear of your loss. Kenwood PTA and the Girl Scouts seem a life time ago. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Dick Siegel lived across the street from my family as I was growing up. Dick made a skating rink in his yard each winter. As a neighbor I was allowed to use the rink and honed my skills early on at skating and then at hockey. In hindsight I'm sure Dick didn't appreciate my use of his picnic table benches as goals especially as I learned to shoot harder and harder but he never complained about it. I still skate. Thanks Dick you will be missed.

I am very sorry for your loss.
I was reading the obituaries and came across the one for you loved one.
My last name is Siegel so of course I read the obituary with interest. We are not related, but your husband, father, etc. sounded like a really wonderful interesting man.
Condolences to you all,
Sincerely,
Diane Siegel

I know, I know, the great spirit of Dick still remains, relaxed and laughing, in the sauna at Rogers Lake. Sauna number 1, number 2, number 3, he's sweating, he's smiling, he's encouraging living.

John and I are at the cabin, here on Rogers Lake because of Dick and Libby. It's a gorgeous, sunny, windy day and the loons are calling out for Dick, I think.....that plaintive call they make, again and again. We will miss our dear friend - shorkeling up to the dock, comiing in to eat and pilosophizie about death and dying, deep interest in my mountain hikes, with sisters - but not that day, coming to dinner in shorts held up by a rope, engaging in edgy conversation, always filled with zest for life. John's last encounter was Dick's unintentional crash into dock with the pontoon, just 2 weeks ago. Happy, rich memories of dear Dick. We love you all.

About 20 years ago, Dick and Libby invited us to their lake near Emily MN.. we came back again and again, then built our own cabin on the same lake. What a great friend and neighbor .. around the Lake, Dick was known for inviting us to help on his projects and to work on our own. He came with enthusiasm and vigor, almost always with an idea about how to do the task that would make Rube Goldberg seem like a pretty conservative guy. If the job could done with a few tools and in 15 minutes, Dick's role as to be sure that it took at least an hour and that we used every tool available. His escapades on the lake included wind surfing and snorkeling often sneaking up on us and others for conversation that was enlightening and, since Dick often did not wear his hearing aids, challenging --- and heard around the lake.

We will miss him.
