Richard Lee "Ricky" Sims Jr.

November 12, 1985 - August 9, 2005

Richard Lee Sims, Jr., "Ricky" to his friends and loved ones, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at the age of 19. Ricky's kindness, generosity and love for friends and family garnered a huge support of loved ones, numbered in the hundreds, who held an hourly vigil as they rallied around him in his final hours.

We invite all who knew Ricky to participate in a Celebration of Life officiated by Pastor Rick Comstock of the Atascadero First Assembly of God to be held at the Atascadero Bible Church at 1 p.m., Monday, Aug. 15. Ricky touched a lot of lives and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Ricky was born in San Luis Obispo, Nov. 12, 1985 and lived in Atascadero all of his young life. He participated in Youth Wrestling, Soccer, Basketball and Baseball. As a youth he spent countless hours with his grandpa and grandma Clay who helped him in many of these endeavors. He also enjoyed exploring Pine Mountain and the Salinas River, golf, riding his quad in the river, spending time with his buddies at the skate park, and loved his animals and exhibiting in the California Mid-State Fair Livestock Show, but his true passion was riding motorcycles off road.

Ricky is survived by his parents, Richard Sims and Jerrienne Sims; paternal grandparents, Richard and Mearle Sims; maternal great-grandmother,

Juanita Sime; maternal grandparents Jerry and Vivienne Clay; his sister and brothers, Suzanne, Russell and Michael Sims; paternal uncles, David, Mark, Paul, James, John Sims and aunt Kathy Croom; maternal uncles, Jerry, Jr., Daniel, Christopher, Joel Clay and aunt Maureen Ray; paternal cousins, Tommy, Nicholas, Brittany, Brian, Clayton, Kindra, Josiah Sims, David and Kayla Croom; maternal cousins, Madison, Monica, Joseph, Jeremy, Joelle Clay,

Ernest, Daniel, and Heather Ray; and very special friend, Kristina Mankin.
