To the Slater's,
What a privelege it was to know your dad. He was truely one of the greatest men I ever knew, I am sure my father Horatio "Bud" Pierce and him are talking away in Heaven. The Pierce Family Reunions will never be the same without him. My husband joseph mark, also loved your dad, and I know they are also together in heaven, but now he is with his sweet wife for Christmas. I will remember you always. Love, Linda Mark

To the Slaters,
Your dad was like a gradnfather to me, his passing has truely efffected me. I do know he is with his wife now and in heaven together for Christmas. He was one of the greatest men I have ever known, this past summer at the Pierce family reunion I had the honor of having my picture taken with your pop and it will be forever cherished for me. One thing that sticks with me is how much each year he remembered about me. my gradfather Horation Pierce loved your dad. There was one thing said that your dad felt uncomfortable coming to the reunion after your mom passed away. I have to tell you after my grandfather passed away your dad was the reason I kept on going, Rest In Peace, Mr. Slater. We Love You. Holly, Mike, and Ava Jo Hull

Uncle Dick always made me laugh and always had a smile on his face. I am glad he and Aunt Jane are together again in heaven (with Charles, Jr., Sheryl, Nina, Charles Sr., Aunt Bea) and the rest of our beloved family.

The family of Charles A. Preston, Jr. extends its deepest sympathies to Jim and Rich, Jr. upon the passing of their beloved Father. Uncle Dick was my husband's favorite Uncle. They spent many cherished, loving moments together in Charles' early years. Know that Uncle Dick is in a better place. May the presence of God enfold and comfort you and yours.

Since he passed I've enjoyed reading the wonderful memories and observations of so many people who knew him. He touched the lives of those around him in positive ways and will be deeply missed.
