Richard "Rich" James Somerville, 78 of Suamico, WI, died Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Edenbrook Nursing Home in Green Bay, WI.

Rich was born in Superior, WI on April 22, 1947, to Eleanor (Berg) and Gus Anderson. Adoptive parents Raymond W. and Fern (Berg) Somerville. He graduated from Superior Central High School in 1965 and attended UW Superior before enlisting in the Navy. Rich was very proud of his service in the Navy aboard the USS Kitty Hawk from 1967-1973 during the Vietnam War.

Rich loved hunting, fishing, golfing, Brewers baseball, and watching and feeding the birds. He also curled in his younger days. He was known by his family as "Mr. Nature" and loved to share his "tall tales". Family was very important to Rich.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Carol (Mosiniak); two children, Rik (Jamie) Somerville of Green Bay, WI and Courtney (Jared) Hoy of Oregon, WI; five grandchildren, Keaton, Marek, Lincoln, Lenox, and Lauren; special niece Terri (Wally) Wouts, Poy Sippi, WI and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, adoptive parents, and siblings, Donald Anderson, Gail (Anderson) Tuura, and Sharon (Anderson) Carpenter.

There will be a private funeral with immediate family at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI. A plaque in Rich's name will be placed at the Richard I. Bong Museum in Superior, WI.
