Richard A. Feyisayo Soyombo was born on March 25th, 1959 in Nigeria.Richard Feyisayo received his formal education from various academic institutions in Nigeria, Brazil, and the United States of America.
Richard was a diligent worker that put life and fun into everything he did. He was a strong leader and extrovert at heart. His infectious and charismatic personality easily attracted many friends and connected him to networks of people all around the world.Until his death, he was the Dean of the GlobalLearning Programs and Services division at Skyline College in San Bruno, and prior to that hewas the Director of the Bay Area Center for International Trade Development in San Francisco.
Besides being an international businessman, Richard was a multi-linguist who spoke English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Yoruba fluently. He was very involved in numerous Nigerian-American causes as well as developing business ventures in Latin America, Caribbean Islands, Africa, and South East Asia.
He is survived by his wife, Jumoke Akin-Taylor, his children: Ivane, Joshua and Nathan. His mother, Victoria and his siblings: Ambassador Olakunle Soyombo, Dr. Ayodele Soyombo, Professor Omololu Soyombo, Mrs. Folasade Omolola, Pastor Taiwo Odubiyi and Mr. Kehinde Soyombo.
A service of Songs will be held at 7pm on Friday, May 15th and funeral will take place at 10 am on Saturday May 16th both at the Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Pleasant Hill.
