My sincerest sympathies to Dick’s extensive family upon his passing. Dick lived across the street from the school we attended together for 12 years in one building as classmates.
Dick was a true and caring friend. My brother Bruce, Andy Anderson, Dick and I spent hours hiking the woods of Avon Lake and playing Kick the Can.
Every spring it was a race to see who would be first and brave enough to swim in Lake Erie. In the winter the lake would freeze along the shoreline and we would play among the hills of
Lake Erie. What fond memories.....

I am sorry for the Spaetzel family loss. He was a nice neighbor when I was growing up. I remember him always pedaling his bike down the street. Prayers for the family.

My condolences to the family, when I was on Avon FD (before Avon exploded) I had the honor of working with Mr Spaetzel on many gas calls whenever he pulled up on a call you knew it would be OK, as a BVFD member I've worked with his Son Mark throughout my time there... my condolences to the family. So sorry for your loss.
