Richard Sullivan

Richard Sullivan, 69, died February 18, 2013 at home surrounded by the love of his family. Rich was born January 15, 1944 in Gilman, Colorado to Timothy and Ruth Sullivan. He was an outstanding athlete on Denver All City Teams in baseball and football. He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox after graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver. He chose to attend CSU and Wayne State College. He had a career in law enforcement and construction related business. He was a devoted husband and father, Rich was a member of the Florence Eagles. He enjoyed camping, fly fishing, golf and most of all his family. He was married to the love of his life Kris Sullivan for almost 49 years. He is survived by his wife, Kris Sullivan; brother, James (Saundy) Sullivan; son, Sean (Joanna) Sullivan; two daughters Kristin Linza (Dutch Conley), Darci (Brad) Lambert; eight grandchildren, John (Amber) Linza, Reilly Sullivan, Dalton Lambert, Brady Lambert, Jasmine Phares, Whaylen Phares, and Timothy Sullivan; and many, many more relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter Kimberli. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 22, 2013. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sangre De Cristo Hospice in Canon City, Colorado. Arrangements are handled through Holt Family Florence Historic Funeral Home.
