Richard Tena Obituary
On Sunday, May 30th, we sadly said good-bye to Richard Tena of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Richard was a life-long resident of Alameda and will be remembered for many things including how he served his community; volunteering as a North Valley Optimist Club Member, a Big Brother in the Big Brother/ Big Sister Program, and a church catechist. Richard was above all else, a- loving- father, where his fatherly influence and love extended to many loved nieces and nephews. He loved the Lord, his family, the outdoors, the Arts, and giving back to his community.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Viola Tena; siblings Bobby, Anet, Larry and David Tena; step- daughter Jovonne Gutierrez.
Richard is survived, and greatly missed, by daughters, Kalandra and Jerett Saavedra, Victoria Tena and partner Ernest Gomez; step-daughter Lisa Ortiz and Kenneth Ortiz; grandchildren Eric-Anthony Pacheco and Amber, Elijah Pacheco, Alyssa Pacheco and partner Carlos Silva, DeAndra and Cecelia Gutierrez, Joziah Ware, Olivia & Adrian Garcia, Adrian and Donovan Saavedra, Isaac Estrada & Judah Ortiz; brothers Robert Tena and Roque; and sister Roberta Tsutsumi.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 13, 2021 at 1:00pm at Calvary Church located at 4001 Osuna Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.

We are happy to have many wonderful memories of all the camping trips with Richard and all the rest of you. Richard was always kind and accepted friends as part of the family. We had some awesome conversations after everyone had puttered out for the night, because after all somebody had to make sure to put out the fire. He will be greatly missed.
