Richard R. Vanasse, 70, of New Bedford passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 in Tobey Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Acushnet, a son of the late Raymond and Viola (Cadorette) Vanasse he was a lifelong area resident. He attended New Bedford Area Schools and Swaine School of Design.

Richard enjoyed painting, spending time with friends and visiting his sister, Claire.

He is survived by his sister, Claire Mailloux and her husband Paul of New Bedford; a twin brother, Robert R. Vanasse of New Bedford; several nieces and nephews and great nephews. He was the brother of the late Rochelle Hawk.
