Obituary

Richard "Rich" Verduzco Jr. Age 73

It is with great sadness that the Verduzco Family, formerly of Modesto, CA, announces the passing of our brother Richard Verduzco Jr., peacefully with family at his side on January 3rd, 2024, in Tempe, Arizona where he lived. Our brother was born in Mexico, October 19th, 1950, but lived in Modesto, CA, most of his life.

Richard was the oldest son of Ricardo and Dominga Verduzco formerly of Modesto, and Madera CA. He attended Garrison Elementary School, Roosevelt Jr High School where he was Student Body President and Grace Davis High School where he excelled as a student in sports such as basketball, cross-country and track. Our brother loved playing baseball from Little League to Babe Ruth, to Adult leagues.

Richard was a son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and grandfather. He is survived by his son Richard Verduzco III and his wife Dani, Grandkids Keelan, Oneida, Richard IV, Dilan, and Luke of Tempe, Arizona. Beautiful daughter Randi Heath and her husband Michael, granddaughter Kasey Heath and Margie Verduzco the mother of Richard's children all of Arkansas.

Richard is also survived by brother Rosendo Verduzco and his wife Julie of Manteca, CA, sister Adelita "Lel" Verduzco and her fiancée John of Fresno CA, brother Fred Verduzco and his wife Kris of Madera, CA, sister Yolanda "Jol" Verduzco and husband Michael of Roseville CA, sister Elizabeth "Beth" Longino and husband Michael of Oklahoma, and brother Roy Verduzco of Madera, CA.

Richard was preceded in death by our parents and our brother Ernest "Ernie" Verduzco. Our brother was also preceded in death by his own "Special Angel" granddaughter Korey Brooke Heath.

Our brother Richard loved our large family gatherings with our extended family. Richard set the standard remarkably high for us to follow, he was the Leader of the Pack whether in sports, school grades, building hot wheels, go-carts, playing marbles, he was our leader. He would say let's go play at the park and out we would go to round-up the neighborhood, which included the Reeder's, Ollis family, Armando Jauregui, Don Ford etc. If not at the park we would play football in the street. Richard loved working on cars and racing cars, especially his 1953 MG Roadster out along orchards near Vernalis, and cruising on McHenry Avenue especially on the Annual Graffiti Night Parades. Our Brother loved all things Classic, cars, women, and music. "We will all miss you Big Brother, you will always be in our hearts."

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 16,2024, at Calvary Cemetery in Madera, California. Following the Service, a Celebration of Life will take place at the home of Roy Verduzco, located at 41377 Avenue 10 1/2, Madera, California, 93636.
