Richard Allen Webb

Richard Allen Webb, 82, of Winchester, husband of Rebecca Ward Webb, passed away Wednesday at 3:16 p.m. in Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington. He was born March 31, 1927, in Richmond, Ky., to the late John and Eva Tolin Webb. He graduated from Madison High School in Richmond. A member of the 10th Region Basketball Hall of Fame, he was a member of the 1945 Kentucky Basketball All Star Team. A United States Army Veteran of WWII, 1945-1947, he retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company after 37 years of service. He was a former member and chairman of the Clark County Board of Education, a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church, Winchester, and member of the Elks Club, Richmond. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia W. (Henry) Rosenthal of Winchester; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard W. (Kim) Webb of Danville; grandchildren, Melissa (Jim) Rosenthal Lintner of Louisville, Lee (Cassidy) Rosenthal of Lexington, and Sarah Webb of Indianapolis, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Emmalee Meredith Lintner of Louisville, Hallie Elizabeth Lintner of Louisville, William James Lintner IV of Louisville, and Lydia Elizabeth Rosenthal of Lexington. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. by Dr. John Owen at Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Winchester. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vincent Rosenthal, Bill Jennings, Lin West, Jim Keffer, Charles Hawkins, and Jim Lintner. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Pace, Guy Strong, Dr. Harold Moberly, Harry Dinsmore, Buddy Roberts, Stafford Nelson, and Bill Nichols.
