Dick was a great guy.
Whenever he visited my Brother-in-Laws home (21 Lee Street) we knew we were in for some very interesting stories.
Dick was just the kind of person you'd want to
see at any gathering.
My deepest sympathy to his family.

Dear Welch family:
We had arrived at Jekyll Island marina this week, and had been planning to look Richard up, when another boater told us the sad news. We've been Wintering at Jekyll Harbor since 1998, but have missed the last two years because of illness in the family. We had become friends because were were the only two boats from the Boston area, and the only two sets of Patriots fans. Last time we saw Richard we had come down by car, and had shared a meal and a Patriots game.
We watched his photography go from a hobby to a passion, and own several of his photos, but nothing pleased him more than a visit to, or from, one of his children.
We admired his spirit and determination to live a full life, even in light of his isolating deafness. He would ask our opinion on his photos now and then, because I have a art background, and was always eager to show us his latest.
Our lives will be emptier without his friendship. We will miss him, and send our condolences to all of you.
Sincerely, Jack and Dee Denman
