Richard Wesch Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 10, 2025.
Richard (Dick) John Wesch Jr., affectionately known as "Richie", "Gramps" or "Grandpa" lived a beautiful life. Dick was born on November 13, 1941, in Yonkers, New York to loving parents, Richard and Margaret Wesch. He moved to Thompsonville, Connecticut where he was raised with his two brothers.

He graduated from Enfield High School in 1959. While in high school he played basketball, was in the Glee Club and was on the Ad Committee for his yearbook.

Dick served in the Air Force from January 29, 1960, to January 28, 1964, and during that time he received a medal for "Good Conduct." He also served in the Air Force Reserves until January 28, 1966. While in the Air Force stationed at Kincheloe AFB in Michigan, he met his wife of 52 years, Claudette Beverly Dinel "Wesch".

The education that Dick received while in the Air Force served as a steppingstone for his successful career in the machine tool industry. For many years, he was Vice President for Machinery Sales Company at their Fremont location and eventually ended his career within the industry as an independent sales consultant. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and cooking.

Dick is preceded in death by his loving parents, Richard and Margaret Wesch, his brother William Wesch and his wife Claudette Wesch. He is survived by his daughter: Michelle Wesch, son: Rick Wesch & daughter-in-law Kim Camacho-Wesch, brother James (Jim) Wesch & sister-in-law: Cynthia Wesch, his granddaughter: Ava Wesch and his niece and nephew: Heidi & John Wesch. He is also survived by his extended family consisting of sons and daughters: Souleymane & Penda Gueye, Douda & Barbara Camara and Peter & Jana Aloo, grandchildren: Jaraf, Aminta, Alliyieu & Abdul Gueye; Mariama Camara and Narayah & Tabitha Aloo.

Dad, we will miss you immensely. You were someone that we could count on when life got rough, providing guidance and sound advice. You taught us to be patient when making decisions and to always thoroughly think things through. Your strong and unwavering points of view were just the outer shell surrounding the big, sensitive teddy bear underneath. We thank you dad for all the wise words of advice you gave us, the text messages and telephone calls and the wonderful lives we lived because of your hard work and your boundless love for us. We will forever keep you in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be on April 19, 2025 4pm - 7pm at the Wesch Residence - 1643 Ocaso Camino, Fremont, CA 94539. RSVP Michelle 510-688-5550. Please reference the photo for information.
