My grandpa went in for open heart surgery on Monday, December 15th, 2008. Unfortunately, we lost him at around noon on Wednesday, December 17th. it was so unexpected that no one thought or knew that it was going to happen. He was the greatest grandpa ever. We all lost a great friend, working buddy, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother and husband. He was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off of his back. He would always make sure that your friends were welcome at his house. He would let them call him grandpa. When he worked at Wal Mart, he would dress up as Bob the Builder on Halloween and the kids would go to the store and wanting to see Bob the Builder. They would get mad when he wasn't there. He always had a smile on. He would always kid around kid around with people, even those he didn't know. The memories that he left us with were happy, exciting and hilarious. My last goodbye from him was," I LOVE YOU, be good, go to school and don't drive Mr.Piasecki crazy." But I didn't have the heart to tell him that morning, Mr. Piasecki is already crazy, so I don't have to drive him crazy. Right now, I believe that I'm going to speak for everyone. If we could have one wish, then I know we would all wish to have our grandpa, great grandpa, dad, friend, brother and husband back. He will be missed by everyone all around. We loved him!

I have not been trying to ignore anyone, but I have been going through some very tough times. My dad had to go for open heart surgery Monday December 15 and unfortunately we lost him on the 17th. He never even woke up from the surgery so he did not suffer. My dad was the greatest dad you could ever ask for along with being a great man all around. He always made sure that people knew they were welcome at their house whenever one of us kids would bring a new friend over. My dad was the strongest man I ever knew. He always showed us how much he loved each and every one of us kids equally. My brothers and sisters and I sat there and tried to think of any bad memories that we might have with him and not a single one of us could think of any. All our memories are happy memories, that's the way he was, he made sure that all of us were happy and kept us all close. My dad will be missed by all of us kids along with anyone who has met him. If I could have just one wish come true it would be to have my dad back with us.

To Dick's family and loved ones, I am so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. I didn't know until the day of the services and had to work or I would of been there. My heart aches for you Carolyn and family, and for the loss of a good friend. None better than Dick for sure! Will greatly miss his visits at Walmart.
