I met the Wood family while growing up in Argyle where Bill was often the Coach of the team. Even after leaving I was fortunate enough to bump into Bill on a few occasions and he was never too busy to say hello or offer a laugh. My deepest sympathies to Terri, Ashley, Sean, and Paige.

Bill...A friend, mentor, father figure and overall good man. He led by example. After graduating and playing basketball at UNT, Bill & Rita welcomed me into their home in Argyle and literally made me a part of their family. It was through that relationship that led me to began teaching basketball lessons to Ashley, Sean and Page. And later throughout the entire Argyle community.

I will forever miss but cherish Bill's words of wisdom and the unconditional love that he shared with me that touched me in so many profound ways.

What I will miss most about Bill is his passion for basketball, baseball, football and most importantly his family and those he worked with at the law office. He was the ultimate competitor.

Thank you Bill & Rita for setting great examples for me and others to follow.

God Bless,

Deon Hunter

P.S. You left great foot prints to follow!

I knew Bill best when I was a teenager visiting his niece. He played the guitar and sang to us and we thought he was really special. And he was! He was every boy's hero, too. This world has lost a good one but his struggles are over. Rest in Peace, Bill. Whenever I hear the Righteous Brothers, I'll think of you! Peace to your family.

I first met Bill in the fifth grade at West Elementary. He was a kind, compassionate child who maintained those qualities throughout life. He came to San Antonio many years ago as a presenter at a legal seminar sponsored by the Trial Lawyers Association. It was wonderful to see him in a professional environment. I was delighted to visit with him at our class reunion in 2019. My deepest condolences to his family and colleagues.

I got to see Bill at U.N.C in 2018 after fifty years. He still had that big smile I remembered when we lived at the Phi Gam house. We will miss you. Perge! Mike Moore (U.N.C. 68)

Though I didn't know him well, I felt like I did! That is how he made everyone feel, I bet! I will fondly remember his smile and quick wit. He was kind, friendly, giving, helpful and dare I say FUN! He helped make my employment at the Denton County Bar Assoc. more like a family.
I am lifting up prayers of comfort and peace for his family, colleagues, and friends. He definitely made this world a better place!

I will miss “Ricardo Guillermo Madera” as he would call himself in Spanish, when he practiced his Spanish with me.
To say he was a great friend is an under statement. I worked for Bill for 22 years and I will miss his serenades every morning when he came in the office, his poems, his quotes and his curiousity. And I will miss his grandmothers birthday poem every year on my birthday. Rest In Peace dear friend.
To Terri and his much beloved family, The Alcantar family share in your grief and offer our most sincere condolences.

It would be a gross understatement to simply say Bill was a “great guy.” He was so much more to all of us Midlanders.
He epitomized everything that’s good. What an accomplished, loving man he was. I loved seeing him at our class reunions! May he forever rest in peace
To Terri and his much beloved family, we share in your grief and offer our most sincere condolences.
