Charles H. Dooley Sr.

Charles H. (Charlie) Dooley, Sr., 74, of Blue Ridge, went to be with the Lord on Saturday August 25, 2007. He was retired from Roanoke Welding Co. after 30 years of service. He helped build the Grace and Truth Baptist Church and parsonage in 1968. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years, Sarah Dooley, brothers, William Ray Dooley and wife Myrtle, Russell Dooley and granddaughter, Jennifer Nester Carr. Surviving are his wife of 11 years, Betty Jo Dooley; daughters, Judy N. Andrews and husband Billy, Linda Childress and husband Randy all of Roanoke, Sandra McDaniel and husband Tony of Blue Ridge; sons, C. H. Dooley, Jr. and wife Sharon of Draper, James H. Dooley and wife Gale of Thaxton; stepdaughters, Tina Toms and husband Terry, Terri Johnston and husband Patrick all of Bedford; numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; brothers, Walter L. Dooley, Jr. and wife Frances of Salem, Rev. Allen Dooley and wife Doris of Chesapeake; sister-in-law, Mary Frances Dooley of Blue Ridge, also are numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Oakey's East Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday August 28, 2007 with the Rev. Allen Dooley and Pastor Rick Ragan officiating. Interment will be in Montvale Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Oakey's East Chapel [Bonsack] 977-3909.
