I was shocked to hear this news. Heaven gained another angel. I had the privilege to sing in choir while Rick would play. You could see how deeply he loved to play. My dad LOVED listening to Rick play at mass. We were so happy to have him play to his hearts content for my dads funeral just this past June. Dee our thoughts and deepest of prayers go out to all of you. He is in the hands of god and playing and filling the heavens with his beautiful talent.

All my love to you, Dee & Anne .................
As one organist to another, Rick was the best sidekick I could ever have had. We had so many great conversations & laughs, and we seemed to be on the same page on almost every topic. Whenever I needed time off, Rick was there to fill in, and not once in 49 years that he was at the Casavant console, did he ever refuse to take over for me, and handle any situation.
He loved his family and he loved the church, and that was so evident in his actions. It is such a loss for St. Clement's, and we shall hold him dearly in our hearts forever. God bless you Dee & Anne. My memories of Rick will last forever. He was a treasure! May he RIP +

The first time I had the pleasure of meeting Rick was a summer evening with my Husband to be Mike, we climbed the stairs to the choir loft in St Clements church a nervous young couple about to start their journey together, Rick welcomed us with his sweet smile and gentle hello I remember him asking what we would like to hear for our special day ahead. He played us a beautiful song that we could have while we sign our wedding license I remember tearing and saying that’s the one. When I looked Ricks way he had a tear in his eye as well I never forgot how beautiful it sounded and him singing along, years later I would end up workingwith Rick at my job for the Region as soon as he spoke to me I knew it was him we talk and laugh about that afternoon years earlier and I was so proud to tell him my hubby and I never forget him.
Rick you have left huge shoes to fill in that choir loft , That organ is never going to sound the same . Rest in peace my friend Kim
