Rick Lawrence Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 17 to Mar. 22, 2024.
It is with deep heartache and sadness that we announce the passing of Rick Lawrence on February 11, 2024, at the age of 52. Rick's battle with cancer ended in Roseville, CA with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his wife, Brandy Lawrence (Guill), children Brittany Lawrence (32), Madison Lawrence (23), and Jack Soder (17). He is also survived by his parents Thurmond Lawrence, Sr, Judie Lawrence (Temple) and brother Tim Lawrence. Rick attended Cirby Elementary and Eich Middle School was well known in the baseball community. He graduated from Roseville High in 1989, joined the US Navy and became a Chief Petty Officer, serving in the Gulf War. He went on to become a service writer for several dealerships and was also a self-employed sales agent. Rick was an avid outdoorsman, always ready to hunt or fish! He was a member of the Westside Bassmasters and was involved with CA Waterfowl, often volunteering his time. He was an amazing cook and was best known for his tailgating at the racetrack. Rick joined the Freemasons in 2019 and was raised in 2021. In 2020, he was able to fulfill a lifelong dream and move to a sportsman's paradise in Wyoming! Sadly, just months later he was diagnosed with cancer. He spent the next 3 years going to several states for surgeries and treatments, always pushing himself to get outside and still enjoy life. Although he had to return to CA in his final days, he was able to make lasting memories for his family in a very short time. Anyone who truly knew Rick can tell you what a quick-witted and giving man he was. He leaves behind a legacy of courage, tenacity, love and most of all, laughter. His adventurous spirit will stay imprinted in our hearts and minds forever. Rick showed us what it meant to "live like you were dying" and he will continue to inspire us to live life like he did! Until we meet again...

Well Ricky, Thank-You for your service. I was in the Navy also, over in the Western Pacific Nam. I remember You & Tim in Roseville L.L. You were a great person and you left us too soon. God Speed To You. Steve & Carol

I love you brother. I am so thankful Tim brought you in to my life and with you came Wendy and my beautiful nieces. You will always be one of my favorite people. In any state. Rest easy and I will see you again when it´s my time.

I will forever miss you my sweet son. I know you're in heaven, we will be reunited one day and you will be waiting with a big hug! I will always be your mom and will keep you tucked tightly in my heart. I love and miss you more today than yesterday. Forever 52!
