We send our deepest sympathy. We rented our first apartment from Rick over 12 years ago. I still remember asking him if he needed references. Rick told me he did not that he could judge people and he knew we would be okay. Rick became our friend. He always had time to stop, give you a warm embrace, a hand shake and catch up on life. We have memories of his son tagging along beside him. His beloved mother was never far away. We saw the 2 of them this fall and had a long conversation. He invited us to dinner at the Copper Bar and we wish we would have taken him up on that invitation. We send all of our thoughts and prayers to his family.

Rick probably didn't have any idea of what a successful man he really was. He made his mark in the community as a civic minded successful business owner. But more important than that Rick will be remembered as a dedicated and loving family man. The great thing about Rick he treated his employees, and friends like family.
Always wearing a smile, with a kind word and a hug.
Rick will be missed by more people than he would ever have imagined. So Rick, to you we will celebrate your life. You were definately a "class act guy".

It's an incredible tribute to Rick to see the notes from people everywhere whom Rick touched in some way. As a close friend of my uncle for more than 30 years he was an "extra" uncle to me. He had spent many hours with my family over the years, and we had worked together at my granparent's farm when I was in high school and other times. He was part of that small but influential group of my uncle's friends that, in the early '70's had influence my understanding of "cool" and what the best music was, so as a little kid, I looked up to him. In later years, I saw him as many did - a fine, kind, warm, thoughtful, and happy man who loved and was loved and respected by his family (including ours, which he was very much a part of), his wide circle of friends, in his profession, and the community. I am thankful for having had Rick as my "extra" uncle.

I first want to say how deeply sorry I am for the family and friends who are left to try get thru this saddened time..my prayers go out to you! I worked at Louises 21 yrs and went thru 2 bosses already before Rick came to Louises and when Jerry confronted me and told me he had sold the restaurant to a man who ran the Boston Connection well I will admit I was alittle worried about what would happen to me because Louises was Home to me and I wasn't sure what would happen to me as I and a few others were the only originals left from the old days. but the day came when Rick bought it and he walked in and said to me you don't have to worry about losing your job I want you to stay and work for me and he was just so nice and kind and when he smiled it just made the Kitchen a whole lot brighter I was blessed to have worked for him and thankful for him keeping me on to continue to serve the people who loved Louises as much as Rick loved it! when he closed it I did move on to another place but will always remember the 1st day he walked in the kitchen and became my new boss and friend. So with that I say Thank you Rick for a great 4 yrs with you! I will never forget you!

May the Lundstrom family & friends find peace and comfort in the happy memories held deep within your hearts.
I am a classmate of Ricks from Schulte. Although I haven't seen Rick since we graduated, one thing is for certain. He has the same sweet smile. Looking at his picture in the paper and reflecting on the good days of Schulte, I recall Rick always having a sweet smile.
Rick, I am sad for all those who love you and will miss you.
My prayers are with you. God Bless You, my friend.

I just found out about Rick's passing. I am so very sorry for his family and friends.
I worked with Rick at The Boston Connection while I was in college. He was a truly dedicated manager AND family man...especially concerning his son, Logan. I have many great memories of Rick and have thought of him fondly over the years.
I hope his family continues his legacy, work ethic and especially his love of family.

Dear Uncle Rick,
You are so very well loved and missed. I will never forget the last time I saw you recently. You were meeting our new puppy for the first time at Chrissie's house and you were so gentle and loving with her and really enjoying playing with her-smiling and laughing. I am so very glad I have that wonderful last memory of you smiling and having fun and us hugging goodbye.
We lived across the street from each over for so many years-John and I are really going to miss all of us coming and going-waving and yelling hi to each other across the street. You are missed so much already-I will never forget all the wonderful memories of family times together, esp when you would be Santa at Christmas every year when we were little kids and pass out all the gifts. Thank you for being such an amazing uncle.
With much love,
Lynn

I have been Rick's partner in employment for alot of years. Sam's Place, Louise's, The Copper Bar and at Louise's again. My job will never be the same. Never the less I know what he wanted and expected and I will still strive to do my best. One of the hardest things I have ever done.I will miss him so very much. But I can hear him now telling me "Deal with that Kay". "Take care of that Kay.""Show her how do that that the right way Kay"." There is only one way Kay. The right way". And I will do that. In loving memory Of Rick. Love, Kay Hood

Dearest Rick (Boker):
I love you, miss you and will celebrate your life as I will treasure the past and future moments in mine and those in our family. I have many happy memories of our lives together, including those of childhood (along with Carla and Rob), when we would go to our cabins in Mansfield almost every weekend to fish and explore in the woods; going to Mom and Pop's almost every holiday; playing basketball in the driveway and "tag" and "ditch" with the neighbors; playing with our beloved dog "Jingles"; watching you play sports at Schulte and so many more memories as we got older, including visiting and dining at the Rick's Bar & Grill, Sam's Place, Louise's and the Copper Bar. Our hearts hurt and we mourn right now, but we will let our memories sustain us and God will guide us through this difficult time.
Love from your sister,
Mary Annette (Netsky)
