Rick Tavares

Rick Tavares, age 68, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, in Fresno, CA.
Rick was a life long resident of the Easton, CA area, where he dedicated his life to the family dairy. Rick
served as a board member of the Danish Creamery Association and the CPDES Portuguese Hall, and
was involved with the Central Valley Corvette Club.

Rick was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed elk hunting trips to Colorado with his brother
and friends, as well as fishing at the coast. After retirement he loved spending time in Oceano, CA fishing
and walking the pier. He enjoyed barbecuing and cooking for his family and friends. Rick will be remembered for his quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and his deep love for his family, especially his
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Mary Jo Tavares; and brother, Roger Tavares.

He is survived by his wife Gail; daughters, Traci Tavares, and Brandi Eckert and husband Shane;
step-daughters, Meredith McIntosh and husband Dave, and Corina Vasaure and husband Pedro
Reynoso; siblings, Peggy Mattos and husband Tony, Dan Tavares and wife Linda, Betsy Elisabeth
Balcom and husband Chris, and Raymond Tavares and wife Eunice, as well as Roger's wife, Patti
Tavares; his beloved grandchildren, Aleyah, Jovanna, Jadyn, Madelyn, Elijah, Olivia, Landon, Sawyer,
Bethany, Lorelai, Jah, Camee, Devon, Kimberly, Nayela, and Mireya; as well a large extended family
and friends.

A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at CPDES Hall, 172 W. Jefferson Ave., Fresno, CA 93706,
on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. A reception will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the CPDES Hall., C/O Rick Tavares Memorial
Scholarship Fund.
