Never in a million years did I think I would ever be writing this tribute to Ricky! I had the honor of working with a Ricky at Post 2 Madisonville! During my 2 year assignment at Post 2, Ricky and I became good friends! Ricky was always smiling and joking, always had a positive perspective on work issues! Ricky understood the concept of public service better than anyone I encountered in my K.S.P. career! Ricky was a true believer and achiever during His career in Law Enforcement! He was a loyal friend to me, friends and family! I remember how proud he was when his son Jake was born! Although I haven't seen a Ricky in 17 years, I still cherished our friendship! God Bless Amy, Jake, Emmy and family! Heaven is now a much better place with The presence of Ricky! My heart breaks for his family and friends! RIP my good friend! Kelly

Such a tragic loss. Ricki was a rare individual. He was every parent's dream. Great Christian, superlative family man, community servant and leader, loved by young and old alike. Ricki Allen was such a class act! He always had warm smile but was a fierce competitor. I played against and with Ricki in many KSP tournaments. Ricki was a great leader and mentor and will be truly missed in his profession. He never asked anyone to do anything that he wouldn't do himself.
I know Ricki was a great family man which was most impressive. In a world where this is not as evident anymore, Ricki set the example by being such a good Husband, Father and Friend.
I can not imagine the grief of the Allen family and I would like to extend my condolences. There are no true words to console during this time of grief but know that Ricki Allen made a TRUE DIFFERENCE in this world and we were truly blessed to have him in our lives!

Good morning, I just wanted to reach out to the Allen family and tell you Ricki was my son's Post Captain at Post 3 here in Bowling Green. My son Chad thought the world of Capt. Allen and had a lot of good times when they worked together at the post. I'm sad to say our son Chad passed away on July 10, 2020 here in Bowling Green. He retired July of 2019 and didn't get to enjoy retirement very long. Our son died of cirrhosis of the liver and alcohol problems. I know Chad and Capt. Allen is having a good time together and telling a lot of stories.
My wife Patty and I send our deepest sympathy and will keep you all in our prayers.

While I was Chief of the Madisonville Police Department we had the honor of hiring Ricki as young 21 year old Patrol Officer in 1990. Ricki only stayed with our Department for about 2 years and left to join the Kentucky State Police. We hated to see Rickie leave , but I knew his heart was set on becoming a State Trooper as I was when I was 21 years old. I have watched Ricki as he advance through the ranks of the KSP and as Sheriff of Muhlenberg County. As a Retired KSP Sergeant Shirley and I are proud to think we a small part of Ricki's career in Law Enforcement.
