Ricky Belcher Obituary
Ricky was born in Lubbock, Texas to the home of Harold and Gayle Belcher and grew up on the family farm near Rogers, NM. He attended school at Dora and graduated in 1977. After graduating, he attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM, where he earned a triple-major bachelor's degree in English, Archeology, and Religion. Ricky continued school and received a master's of theology degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. He went on to work as a missionary and teacher, touching lives and teaching in many places, such as Thailand, Maine, Michigan, Arizona and Cloudcroft, NM.
Ricky is survived by his mother and stepfather, Gayle, and Bob Whitten; sisters, Charlotte Hamilton, Cheri Belcher, and Susan Carter; his nieces and nephews, as well as numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Belcher.
A celebration of life will be held at French's Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM, on December 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that gifts be made in Ricky's name to your favorite charity.
