Well Rick, a year has passed already and by now I figure you have found everyone that has gone before you from our little family. The ones you left behind are still missing you and your smile. Maya and Bubbi are doing well staying with your dad there in Sacramento. You would be so proud of who they are turning out to be. They'll do just find i life. Denny is doing a very good job of loving them.
Down here in the lower west end of Kentucky Paulette and I are hanging in there too. Sue is still in Lafayette and doing well from all I've heard.
I hope heaven is all you hoped it would be and the Angels sing as sweet as we think they do.
Keep and eye out for your dad, Sue and me, we'll probably all be along before to much longer. It would be nice to have someone show us around and God knows you probably already know everyone there.
Miss you nephew and love you still.

I had just returned from war in 1966 and there stood a little man next to his father, my brother, Denny. First time I ever saw him. He was about 3 years old. My brother took me in for a few weeks/months as I was getting back on my feet in my new role as a civilian.
Rick was shy and hid behind his dads leg. Didn't take long for him to come around and started talking my leg off. He was a joy to our family. I watched him grow and become a man over the years and become one of the most extroverted people I have ever know in my life. He would talk the limbs of a tree if left to his with it for long.
Along life's road we all face many obstacles. Many cross roads where we have to choose which road to take. Rick was no exception. If he chose wrong, he always found his way home again. I couldn't be more proud of him if he was my own.
Our little family has suffered many deaths in recent years and is now down to just a few of us left. With the loss of Ricky we all feel fewer heart beats in our family. We miss him, love him and pray that he finds Joyce, mom, dad, Jr., and the rest that has gone before him.
We miss you Rick!

I met Rick at Glenbrook Apts in Greenville Ky. He was a "never met a stranger" type of guy. He was always full of joy and laughter and always had a story to tell. It tore me to pieces when i read the paper....ill always remember his laugh and his beaming smile...rest now Rick.....the world will never be the same...

So sorry to hear of Rick's passing. I knew him from our childhood neighborhood Woodcliff Acres and they bought my former house there. His grandmother Maxine used to babysit for my sister and I

the first memory that comes to mind is the day we met, we were very young fresh out of high school. It was a Burger King parking lot on kerney street in Springfield, MO in 1982 he swept me off my feet the old love at first sight. even though it didn't work out we had a beautiful son together, Rick has been and will always be my first and only true love. His family were and are awesome people they took me in and made me apart of the family, I miss you all, and my prayers have been with you through all your losses.
Love you all,
Carol Sue

even though we have been apart for many years I've always had Rick and his family in my heart.
My Heart is heavy, he was my first love and the father of our son Scotty.
