Ricky D. Jordan

Ricky "Rick" D. Jordan, 55, of Athens passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009. Rick is survived by his wife of 26 years, Karen; and three sons, Steve Birchmeier and wife Amanda, Marty Birchmeier and wife Renee and Eric Birchmeier and wife Laura; father, James D. Jordan and wife Dottie; mother, Patricia A. Summers; five brothers, Ray Jordan and wife Sharon, Rex Jordan, Rocky Jordan and wife Susan, Neil Summers and wife Debbie, and Shawn Summers and wife Angie; one sister, Robin Jordan; 12 grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Eva Jordan, and James and Vera Hodge; and stepfather, William A. Summers. Rick was employed nine years with the Athens division of Federal Mogul as a die setter.The family would like to thank Dr. Dang and the entire staff of the Clearview Cancer Institute and Crestwood Hospital for the care provided during Rick's illness and to all of his friends, especially those from Wildwood Electronic Inc. and Federal Mogul, for the prayers and support.Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, from 3 until 4 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens with a service to follow with Eric Pugh officiating.
