Rita Decoteau Obituary
She was born in North Adams, MA on April 4, 1916, daughter of Olyzan and Mary (Lanoue) Devio. She attended the former Notre Dame Parochial School and Johnson School.
She was first employed with the former Norad Mills and then worked at Sprague Electric Co. for 22 years until her retirement in 1972.
Rita was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church.
She was the widow of Philip Joseph "Joe" Decoteau who died on August 11, 1971. They were married on April 22, 1935 in Notre Dame Church.
Survivors include two daughters-Arlene Person of Milford, MA and Rose Marie Moore of North Adams.
One Grandson- Robert Jeffrey Person of New York City
One Great Grandchild- Evangeline Bushey of Kentucky
Two Great Great Grandchildren- Landen Bushey and Sylas Bushey. She also leaves her Godson, John Devio of North Adams and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Nine sisters and three brothers are deceased including Lorena Cerminaro, Ida Wojcik, Lillian Hutchinson, Yvonne Morandi, Charlotte "Lottie" Devio, Viola Devio, Catherine Devio, Mabel Theriault, Isabel LaBrecque, Norman, Ernest, and Homer Devio.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Rita Decoteau will be celebrated Friday June 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA are Friday morning from 9-10:30 AM.
