Rita Jane Farry

age 88, devoted, dearest Mother of Ann Marie DeWerth (Alan) and beloved Grandmother of Matthew Bantry DeWerth. Cherished sister of Evelyn Bible, and of the late Dr. Glenn Allen Bible, (Lois) and the late Sgt. Maj. Jack Bible (Betty). Aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend to many, passed away peacefully at home October 29, surrounded by her loving family. Rita was born at home March 28, 1935 in Bybee, Tennessee. After coming to Ohio, she lived in Tremont and was graduated from Lincoln High School in Cleveland where she was an honor student, head majorette, and athlete. She then attended Fenn College and began her 40-year career at Alcoa Cleveland Works, where she worked as a metallurgist, technician, photographer and inventor. Her true love and passion was her daughter Ann, with whom she shared many activities including reading, gardening, tennis, ice skating, softball, attending dance recitals and driving Ann and her friends everywhere. After Rita's grandson Matthew was born, he supplanted Ann as Rita's number one passion. A member of the Daughters of American Revolution, (DAR), Rita also enjoyed collecting fine china, nature walks and birdwatching. Her kind graceful spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 10:30am at the Rocky River Presbyterian Church 21750 Detroit Rd, Rocky River, OH 44116. 440.933.3202
