Rita Hindoyan

I can honestly say I grew up with Rita. Whether in class at school, on the bus or weekends at the park, she was someone very dear to me and that I had the privilege to know well.

I always new growing up that she was an incredible person with a unique energy only she radiated, but never in a lifetime would I have guessed how courageous she was. I know now.

God Bless you Rita. You are missed. Strength to Serge and family.

I only recently found out about Rita's passing and the news devastated me. My heart goes out to her husband and her family. Rest in peace Rita, you will never be forgotten.

Dear Families, I met Rita in the summer of 2007 as a client going to sign a mortgage for my home. She was so helpful and kind, and made our experience wonderful.
Today, just over a year later, I called her office to make an appointment with her, only to find out about her untimely passing.
I must say, even though I did not know her on a more personal level, this news was very shocking and deeply saddening.
The first thing that comes to mind when I remember Rita, was her dynamic smile! She was always so happy and full of life each time I saw her. If only more people could follow her example.
In the month of October 2008 I am having my head shaved in order to raise money and show my support for the fight against breast cancer. I want you to know that when they shave my head that day, I will be thinking of Rita's smile.

I am deeply saddened to learn of this today. I'm living thousands of kilometers away from Montreal now and the news got to me quite late. I'm shocked. I have known Rita since 1987 when we were on the same yellow school bus, playing cards and sharing laughs. We later on went to the same law school, where she was still the sunshine I had known her to be when we were in elemantary school. We worked together to prepare the fashion shows for our law school end of year party, took classes together, etc. Never would I have thought that we would have to see her go so soon.

My deepest condolences to both families. I will pray today for her soul to be in peace.

I attended Alex Manoogian with Rita and was absolutely shocked when I received the news of her passing.Although I was not one of the lucky ones to have continued in getting to know Rita throughout the years, I am glad that she was part of my life for the few years I did have with her. I still remember during Serge and Rita’s wedding, Rita’s sister in her speech talked about the roller coaster of life and all the ups and downs that life can bring. Little did most of us know at the time that Serge and Rita were too well aware of the challenges that lay before them. Undaunted and through it all, Rita was always smiling, full of life and energy without the slightest hint that something was ever wrong. I am truly amazed by Rita’s strength and Serge’s compassion. Perfect complements in more ways than one. No words can fill the loss you feel but rest assured Rita’s strength and courage will inspire indefinitely. I was so shocked, angry and terribly saddened to hear about your loss. Rita and I were in University together and she was in my close circle of friends for a fashion show we did together. I am still in shock since I heard of Rita's passing. I felt that surely someone must have made a mistake and then I came across this page and felt such sadness.

Like everybody else who knew Rita, I was shocked by the news. In my mind, she will forever be the very pretty and sweetly coquettish girl I grew up with in school. The girl everybody liked because she treated everybody with the same respect. I cannot believe that God would choose to take her away so young, when she had so much ahead of her still... How do say goodbye to your best friend of 27 years? I have given this quite some thought and it occured to me that you do not say goodbye to an angel like Rita. Rita was the kindest human being anyone can hope or pray to know and I am forever blessed that God brought that angel in my life. She is everything that anyone can hope or strive to be, she was kind, caring, sincere,beautiful on the inside and out. In fact, I do not think there are enough kind words that exist to describe Rita. The simplest way to describe her is to say that Rita was a gift.She was like a sister to me. To say anyone came close or can ever come close to her is a massive understatement. Anyone who knew Rita can attest to her strength, wisdom, courage and kindred soul and to those that did not know her well, I feel for you since you missed out on one of the rare oppurtunities to know one of God's real angels. Her bravery in the last 8 years is unprecendented. She has shown time and time again what it means to be a real person, one who survives in the face of adversity, since although she is gone, she did win the battle, since she refused to let this terrible disease overpower her life. Serge is and should be an inspiration to all husbands for his devotion and love for her, they really were soul mates through and through. So, I refuse to say goodbye but rather I will see you one day,as I know you will be watching over me everyday. I love you and always will.
