Please accept my condolences to the Homer family. I had the pleasure of knowing your mom when I ws a kid. I am Tim (jule) and AnnMarie Horgan daughter and when ever my uncle (bud) and aunt (helen) had parties you were all there. Your mom was always happy from what I remember. Please take care

We are deeply saddened at the news and are keeping the entire Homer clan in thoughts and prayers.

My grandparents (Andy and Helen Horgan) lived across the street from and were friends with Rita and Russ for decades. I always loved visiting because it meant getting to spend time not only with Holly and Claudia, but with Mrs. Homer. She had this amazing ability to make you feel like you were the only person in the room, a sharp sense of humor and great laugh.

We still read the poem she created for my grandparents 40th anniversary regularly -- her creativity and kindness shine through and live on in all of you.

With love and gratitude for a life well lived.

I am so saddened to hear about the passing of Rita. She was my Mom's friend at Paramount and was always a delight! She shared many meals and stories with my mom and me at their table in the dining room.
Sadly we lost touch when my mom moved.
Prayers and sympathy to your family.

Nanny was such a loving person and made everyone feel like they were part of her family. She was always good for a laugh, a hot fudge Sunday, some WW2 tunes and extra sugary tang just so there were no bugs in sight. An avid poet, I thank her for passing her talent of the written word down to me. Definitely a one of a kind gem sent to this world to make others smile and know what it is like to feel love. She will be sadly missed but always remembered especially by my child who tells me on a daily basis that she loves me "a bussel and a peck and a hug around the neck." RIP Nanny until we meet again...

My sympathy to the Homer family over the loss of their mother, Rita. Mrs. Homer enrolled me at the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy back in 1970-a step that forever changed my life for the better. Thank you so much Rita, for touching my life. I will be forever grateful. Jim Kastner- Plum Borough, PA
