My great respect for my old friend Roar with whom I had the pleasure of sharing several förestry tours in Scandinavia.
Being both the bus -driver and the tour-guide as well as adviser about good food as well as quality wines and the bond that was created between us, I will never forget these tours with Canadian company-leaders as long as I live

My heartfelt condolences to Roar's children who lost a wonderful Dad and, not that long ago, a wonderful mother, Karin, who was always the mainstay of Roar.
I met Roar in the course of business about 40 years ago and, while we actually did very little business together, enjoyed meeting him, usually for a "pipelunch" at the old Coachhouse and later at the Pemberton Station Pub.
He was unique and to say he called a spade a spade was an understatement. But I, like many others, enjoyed his straight talk and always making the best of any situation.
I really came to admire him for that when visiting him at Evergreen house, I know what a blow it was to him and having to rely on others, and having lost his beloved Karin. Still, here he was, busy as always and making the best of it and enjoying what he had. And he had such pride and enjoyment in his kids, remembering his own childhood and remembering the stories of his youth.
A wonderful man has left this world, and all those of us who knew him are a bit richer.
Rest in peace, Roar, and no, you cannot redesign heaven even if your ideas are very good.

My love and prayers to Kat and all the family. I am sad I didn't get to know Roar and I am looking forward to his book. I have enjoyed all his stories and drawings through Kat's journals. Xoxox

Roar was alway a bright spark when I went to Evergreen to visit. We had many good laughs, talked hockey and of course about his book. Sorry that he won't be here to see it published. He was proud of the cover which he showed me on his wall. He will be sadly missed by many. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Rest in peace Roar.

Always in our hearts! There is a void when I walk down the halls at work. I am not the only person at Everygreen that feels it. Papa Roar is an amazing part of my history. He taught me a lot about injoying life and not worrying about the small stuff.
Missing my friend.

My name is Tony Vendargon......I got to know Roar @ evergreen House when he shared a room with George Barnard. I often went to see him because he was a great human being and a joy to talk to. We often shared our art work together. My heartfelt condolences to the whole family. We will miss him dearly. Rest in Peace my friend and may God be with you!

I have many, many memories of my great next door neighbours Roar and his late wife, and the three "kids". Many weekend days spent sharing a cold refreshment on our decks, talking about car racing, and many years ago, hockey. Roar was a true gentleman and we were lucky to have him and his family as our next door neighbours for many years. A couple of favourite imagines come to mind - Roar walking one of his several dogs each and every day, and of him being out there when the first snow flake hit his driveway - cleaning it off. Rest in peace friend. My thoughts are with his family.
