Robbie Long Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 2, 2011.
Robbie Long was born on the 27th of February 1932 to J.E. and Ollie Flowers in Sabine County, Texas and went to be with Jesus on the 30th of July, 2011. Robbie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved to laugh and enjoyed filling others lives with laughter. She was an excellent cook, and will always be remembered for her Thanksgiving dressing, Red Velvet cake and Sweet Tea. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was very skilled with a paintbrush. She enjoyed playing games with her family and loved decorating her house during the holiday season. She also loved her Westside Apostolic church family where she was a faithful member. She was married to the love of her life Alvin Thomas Long for 58 years. They happily moved to East Texas in 1994 where they loved to garden, watch birds and drink coffee on the porch together. Robbie is preceded in death by her parents J.E. and Ollie Flowers, and her son-in-law Charles Decker. Robbie is survived by Alvin, her loving husband; sister, Gloria Jean Hudson; children, Donna Decker, Nancy Edwards and husband Lee, Anthony Long and wife Lori, Gary Long and wife Darla, Jerry Long and wife Debra. "Nanny" is also survived by her grandchildren, Christy, Jennifer, Jonathan, Chris and wife Tamela, April and husband Johnny, Ashley and husband Scott, Craig and wife Miranda, Clinton, Staci, Dana, Blake, and six great grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at Eastview United Pentecostal Church in Lufkin, Texas the 2nd of August at 1 in the afternoon, with burial at Rosevine Cemetery.

Rev. J. Driscoll family

August 2, 2011

To all of the Long family: We know that you all are hurting now, and want you to know that God knows you are hurting too. We are praying that God wraps his loving arms around you all. We always loved to be around Sis. Robbie Long, as she was so sweet, and always made us feel welcome, and knew that she loved us. She will be missed, but just know you have more to go to heaven for than you did 3 days ago! We are praying for you all. Love, the Rev. J. Driscoll family
