ROBERT R.
On April 17, 2002, age 72, of Whitaker. He was a past member for 54 years at the Whitaker Volunteer Fire Company, past president of the Whitaker Volunteer Fire Company for 35 years. Survived by his wife Lois J. (Durst), son of the late Alfred "Dutch" Ackerman and Bernadette Ackerman, survived by sons Robert R. Ackerman II & his wife Deborah of Munhall, Kenneth R. Ackerman & his wife Michelle of West Mifflin, grandfather of Robert, Ryan, Lauren, Marissa, & Nicholas Ackerman, brother-in-law of Josephine Ackerman of Whitaker, also nieces & nephews. Friends received Sat. 2-4 & 7-9pm, Sun 12-4 & 7-9pm at the GEORGE IRVIN GREEN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3511 Main Street, Munhall. (A selected Golden Rule Member) where Services will be held on Mon. at 10am.

My father and I just heard the news
of Bobs passing on, and give our deepest sympathy. We've known bob for many years , he was a very kind and unselfish man. His Memory will always be with our family.

We were neighbors in Whitaker over 40 years ago. Bob was a great guy and I remember being bussed to Munhall High School by our good driver, Bob. It was a previlege to have known him. Don Ries

We would like to offer our deepest condolances to all the family on this loss. Bob was a wonderful human being and an inspiration to all around him. He worked hard all his life, not just in his business but for the community as well, he cared about the town he lived in and was a civic leader, stepping up to get things done when others wouldn't. I have always admired him and will continue to carry on his inspiration. I will not be able to attend the funeral but I will be there in spirit and prayer.
