Robert L. "Bob" Axe Jr.

Robert L. 'Bob' Axe Jr. of Quarryville Robert L. "Bob" Axe, Jr., 54, of Quarryville, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 4, 2012. He was the husband of Sandra J. Simmers Axe with whom he celebrated 20 years of marriage on May 4th of last year. He was born in Lancaster, son of Robert L. Sr. and Marie Shaffer Axe of Paradise. He attended Timberline Church of Strasburg, where he was a greeter. Bob worked as a machinist for 35 years, most recently for Dart Container of Leola. He graduated from Pequea Valley High School class of 1975. Bob enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycle, camping and going to car shows. Surviving besides his wife and parents are three children, Jason L., husband of Tiffani D. Gwinn Axe of Quarryville, Le Ann, wife of Jason M. Poague of Lancaster and Tristan R. Axe at home; four grandchildren, Gage, Aaliyah, Draven Axe and Aubrey Poague; five siblings, Ronald Axe of Lititz, Allen Axe, Bern, husband of Mary Axe, both of York County, Deb, wife of Chip Wilson and Pat, wife of Nick Leto, both of Paradise. His funeral service will take place at 7 p.m., with a viewing time from 5 p.m. until time of service, on Friday, March 9, at Calvary Monument Bible Church, 1660 Mine Road, Paradise. Pastor Marlin Nafziger will be officiating.
