Robert Bain Obituary
April 18, 1945 - November 16, 2024 Edwards, MO
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Ilene Marie, and his oldest son Robert Jr. He is survived by sons Scott M. Bain and Brian C. Bain, an older sister, Joyce Maurer, her spouse Louis Maurer, younger brother, Carl Gehrke, his wife, Teresa Gehrke, younger sister Deborah Holt, her spouse Walter Holt, sister-in-law Teresa Bain (wife of Donald E. Bain, dec. Jan. 2020) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born to Paul E. Bain and Louise E. Schmidt-Bain in Kansas City, MO.
He served in the US Air Force 1962-1963 as Airman. He started his career in 1968 with TWA (Trans World Airlines) where he worked as an electrician, instrument mechanic then later as crew chief in the instrument shop at the overhaul base in Kansas City, MO, retiring in 2002 after 34 years of service. He was a journeyman electrician, skilled craftsman and machinist.
He and his wife Ilene moved to Lake of the Ozarks into their log home he constructed and was so proud of and where he enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting and woodworking.
If you ever visited "Bob & Ilene", you probably never went home empty handed! Always giving, a rock he found with a big story, a bag of tomatoes from their garden, or a fresh loaf of zucchini bread Ilene had just baked.
He will be missed by many, and leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories that will live forever in our hearts. Family, friends, and others are invited to contribute to a charity of their choice in his honor.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob on several occasions and visited Bob and Ilene at the lake. Bob and Ilene were both down to earth and welcoming. My condolences to Brian and Scott. Cherish the memories as they will live forever.

Our sympathies to the Bain family and especially to Brian and Scott. I have fond memories of your parents after meeting them while we were in high school and through all the stories you have shared with me over the years. Their legacy will continue to keep us smiling.

My condolences to the family. I especially want to extend that to Brian who is a friend and a talented person. He taught me how too grow flowers and has tuned my piano over the years. He was a devoted son and helped his father after the passing of his mother. God bless your family.. Phyllis Dugger

Your Dad loved sharing his knowledge of his skill set with you & was so elated at how you continued on with his legacy of talent. Your Dad was exceptional at sharing his stories & making you laugh. May you find Comfort & Joy in the memories in which you shared.

I was unable to meet Bob, but I adore his son Brian. Since Brian is the result of Bob's parenting and the kind of man he was, he was obviously an exemplary man, father, husband and friend. He will be greatly missed
