Dr Barker was an upstanding, kind and brilliant man. He trained me to do EGDs and colonoscopies when I was a resident physician in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Training with him was one of the highlights of my residency. He was thorough, had superior knowledge and skills, and was a joy to work with. He actually made me feel like it wasn't any work at all. Dr. Barker was wonderful with patients and in the hundreds of cases I had the privilege to be involved in, all went smoothly. Dr. Barker trusted me and allowed me to perform over 100 procedures under his keen supervision. We had a lot in common, we both loved cars and horses. Dr. Barker made a mark on my life for sure. I'm sad to see him go.
I've changed careers and now am an airline Captain, but I think of him more than just occasionally. The way he conducted himself helps me, even in my current career. Dr. Barker was a great man, he carried himself well, was generous with his knowledge, and helped many patients. God bless and keep him.
