Robert Barnett

Dr. Robert (Robin) Barnett died peacefully early March 25, 2025, at the age of 76. Dr. Barnett was a general surgeon who practiced at Memorial Hospital for nearly 50 years where he saved and touched many lives. Recently he completed his third medical mission trip to Honduras to treat patients and more importantly to tell them about Jesus. Dr. Barnett was a member of Chistway Church.



Dr. Barnett was preceded in death by his father, Robert M. Barnett, Jr. and his father-in-law, Kenneth Bailey.



He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Alania Bailey Barnett. He is also survived by his four children, Josh Barnett (Becca), Jonathan Barnett (Tiffany), Katie Sharp (Keith), and Jake Barnett, and his six granddaughters, Blake, Bryce, Bradley, Logan, McLain, and Cameron. He also leaves his adoring mother, Alice Barnett, and three sisters, MaryAlice Nipper (Jim), CarolAnne Coppinger (Jeff),

and Susan Stokes (Kert) and his mother-in-law, Peggy Bailey. and brother-in-law, Alan Bailey (April).



Robin had a deep love for animals and had constant companions in his dogs. He also loved hunting and fishing, especially with his wife, sons and granddaughters. Robin was blessed to have traveled all over the world to hunt and fish.



After retiring from his surgical practice, Dr. Barnett had more time to enjoy his family and his farm. He loved his tractor and his farm animals.



Family graveside services will be Friday, March 28, at 11:00. A visitation with family and friends will be Saturday, March 29, from 3:00-6:00 PM, at Christway Community Church, 6201 Mountain View Road, Ooltewah, Tn., 37363. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Honduras Mission Team @ChristwayChurch.org
