I worked with Bob at Valley Medical Center for many years. He was a creative professional who performed many jobs in the imaging services proficiently and with expertise. I was always impressed with his ability to be able to assume different roles and duties so seamlessly and without hesitation. He was respected and loved by the staff members not only in the services but throughout the entire organization.

He spoke often of his spouse Kathy and of his children. He would talk about his kids and their activities and how he loved being involved in his family´s lives.

Bob was a big part of my work life while I was at VMC and it was a privilege to learn and grow together in our respective jobs.

I hired Bob as my Manager of Imaging directly from Nebraska. We worked as partners of the Imaging services for many years before I moved on to other endeavors I wanted to pursue. Bob stayed on to insure the work we had begun would be fulfilled in the vision we both worked for the community. We both developed an imaging service at VMC that evolved and grew exponentially that benefited the south end community but especially the Renton community that Bob loved and was proud to be involved.

I met Bob 44 years ago when I was 15. He was the best uncle you could imagine, always interested and fun, never ever critical. He was humble and showed his intelligence with his famously dry humor and dad jokes.
I never told him but in my 20s I chose him as a role model for parenting as he always made kids feel confident and safe. Bob your kind heart and goodness will live on in your family. I´m so grateful to have know you.

I met Bob when I was a student in xray. I spent time with him at Valley medical center. He taught me not only how to shoot X-rays and to take care of patients. But he also taught me the love of teaching. He would often take me aside and show me something small about the profession I was going into. But what I learned in those moments was how much he enjoyed watching people grow and learn. I have taken a small part of his passion of teaching and coaching forward with me. I owe a lot to him for helping shape me into the person I was to become. Bob was and is a great man. Thank you Bob for everything you did for me!

Easy - watching Angie and Chris play soccer!

I first met Bob and Kathy when I moved into the cul-de-sac in Victoria Hills. We became lifetime friends during that time. I remember many visits and excursions with the Barney family - I loved Bob´s sense of humor plus his kindness and generous spirit. Rest in peace my friend

As a childhood friend of Angie, I have many fond memories of Bob. He was such a supportive Dad and a great coach. He was always kind to me and he had a great laugh. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to know him. He will be missed.
