Bob,
Was thinking about you this morning as I was driving to work. Hard to believe this month marks 7 years since you left us. I passed by a local Michigan high school football field and saw the boys out there doing there morning run. Not much I don't remember about those crisp fall days getting ready for an upcoming football season. Time flies by my friend.

Hey Brother, I was just thinking about you today not even believing tomorrow marks 4 years to the date since your passing.
Just dwelling on all of the positive things we did growing up as kids in Warren, Michigan. Like... playing baseball at Halmich Park against one another. (Boy those were some fun times.) Or playing high school football and you tossing me the football with that perfect spiral you could always throw. Over and over again.
Things sure seemed to be much simpler then. As always, my best to your family, who remain.

Wow. Nothing but good things to say about Bob. Haven't seen him in a while. I am thinking 30th golf outing. He was never short on words or things to say or ways to make us all laugh. You will be missed buddy. God Bless.

As I write this, many memories come over my emotions. I remember meeting Bobby in the fifth or sixth grade playing baseball. Played in many of football games with him at Butcher Jr. High and also at Charles Stewart Mott High School. Bobby had a rocket for a right arm. As a receiver in High School, I know for certain, Bobby threw the tightest, softest, most accurate spiral, a receiver could ever ask for.
I will always remember his big wide smile and his infamous thumbs up, if he really like something.
Bobby and I shared something in common. Our moms share the same first name. That was always special to me.
One other thing. Bobby game me a nick name back in Junior High, which was simply, "YABA". Once he called me that, our Head football coach, Robert "Bob" Dolinar called me that from then on too. Rest in peace, "Big Game Bob".

We are beyond devastated by the unexpected death of our friend this week. Ron knew Bob since childhood and he still lived next to Ron's parents home. Every time we go to Ron's Mom's, the boys stand at the fence and call for Bobby to come out and play, including this past weekend. He was a big kid at heart. The kids loved him like crazy and he loved them, too. He would swim and play with them in the pool, something I don't even attempt anymore! Sean can imitate him and his voice like nobody's business. He will live on in our home as long as Sean never stops talking like him. And I hope Sean never, ever stops. Every year he golfed in our Fragile X Association of Michigan golf outing to support us, and because he loved golf. We truly loved him like family. We are not even sure how to tell the kids or how they will handle the big hole that will be left in their lives. The big hole that will be left in all of our lives. The world feels really empty right now. RIP our dear friend.

I am so sorry for your loss. I went to high school with Bob and he always had smile in his face and had a great laugh. I enjoyed playing baseball with him as he was a great player and pitcher.

Where to begin? Just spoke with Bob on Saturday and could feel his elation about some new opportunities with his business he developed. I have known Bob since we were babies growing up next door to each other for over 18 years. He was always considered one of my best friends and we had so many experiences together and i am heartbroken to hear about his passing just 2 days after i spoke to him. As noted, Bob was a phenomenal athlete and would be the only kid we knew that could throw curve balls and sliders in the 3rd grade. I had no chance to compete with Bob in sports as that is where he really excelled. So, instead i made sure i was always on his team whenever possible. One area we did compete on occasion was for the love of the the cute girls in school. We both fancied the same cute girl named Sandy in 3rd grade and both called her our girlfriends as we competed for her attention. I think this one was more of a draw than a win or lose.
More recently, Bob was the one that visited me at the hospital for the last 4+ years as i was traveling my own difficult health journey. He came in with that classic grin and would say "Granata, you're going to beat this Cancer, I just know. Frankly, it was not my expectation that i would outlive my dear friend but he was able to breathe new life into me when he called and visited.
Subsequently, i am so shocked at this untimely loss of life. Bob had a huge heart and would help you whenever possible. He touched many of our friends and families lives in ways he probably never realized and for that we will miss him eternally. Rest in Peace dear Friend. You will be sincerely missed by i and the rest of the people you touched.
