Today is no easier than the first....
I have walked this earth going on a month without you. It is strange how the dumbest things remind me of you. Mom, Bob and Dan are lost without you and I struggle through the days at times. I don't know why but I continue to hope you can read this or see how we are without you. I talk to you more now than I did when you were here because I remember the good and not the bad... While you were here though I couldn't do that... I was too wrapped up in my own hurt. Now I just feel for everyone around me who is just trying to deal with it on top of my own. This will only be up a short while longer, but I won't stop writing until I feel like that green light you gave us in your last days is solid green and breathing is just a bit easier.
Love you.....

I remember being on the store roof on Clark Street, where we grew up, and nailing cars with snowballs. We even got a police car once. I remember when Bob would climb up on his mother's house and I was too chicken. He wanted me to do it. He encouraged me but in the and I was too afraid. I remember how he would draw these neat battleship scenes on paper with colored pencils. I think he had a real talent. I remember when we played basketball at St. Gregory. One time he had the ball and he was right under the basket. He couldn't dribble and he was blocked from getting out of there. So he threw the ball up in the air and it went in the basket. Fortunately it went in our basket. Bob was a handful when we were young...always testing the limits.
Unfortunately we drifted apart with me going to the seminary and then moving. After we finished high school that was it, I guess. We were too busy in our own lives to even think about reconnecting. I feel bad about that.
We found each other at a class reunion and kept in touch as best as two old guys do.
