Robert Beeley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 31, 2024.
After a short illness, Bob passed away at Mackenzie Health, Richmond Hill, surrounded by his adoring family.

Preceded by his parents, Alfred and Teresa Beeley, and his brother/partner in mischief, Alf Beeley.

Bob was born in Manchester, England. He spent the war years as an evacuee in Hadfield, England, along with his sister Pat, lovingly cared for by Arthur and Catherine Arundale. He was a scholarship student at St. Bede's College and went on to study at Manchester College of Science and Technology. He immigrated to Canada in 1965 and worked as a Draughtsman in Hamilton and Calgary before settling in Toronto. Bob was coaxed out of retirement at 70 for a short contract that was extended for more than 4 years.

Bob was a voracious reader who enjoyed politics, football, tennis, boxing, his dogs, making people laugh, his work as a draughtsman, lifelong friendships with his fellow pipers, and travelling, especially back to England.

Bob was our rock, a kind and generous man with a wonderful sense of humor, who provided a home filled with joy, love and so much laughter. He asked for little and genuinely enjoyed the little things in life, time with family and friends, a not-so-cold pint, and a good laugh. He has left a treasure of simple memories and his constant love for his family.

He is dearly missed by his beloved wife, Elizabeth, his heartbroken daughters Stephanie (Doug) and Jennifer, his adored grandchildren Jacob, Nathan, Isabel, Lily and Benjamin, his loving sister Pat (Ron), sisters in law Janet, Carol (Dave), his nephews Alf (Chantel) and Jeremy (Melanie), his nieces Susan (Richard), Tina (David), Tracey, Nicola (John), Daena (Kevin). Also missed by his grandnephews Paul, Jo, Chris, Mitchell, Connor, Owen, Tim, Alfie, and grandnieces Janna, EJ, Lyla, Haley, Ella, Rhiannon, Jodie, Aaliyah, and Allysia.

The family would like to acknowledge the exemplary care provided by the nurses and care attendants at North York General Hospital.

In accordance with Bob's wishes, no funeral will be held. He will be cremated Friday August 2, 2024, in the care of A Simple Alternative Funeral Home - Toronto. If desired, donations can be made to Doctors Without Borders, or the charity of your choice. No flowers, please.

I´m very sad to hear of Bob´s passing.
I worked with him on various Engineering projects in a couple of different companies. We had a great team of guys from Britain and Ireland and always got on well with each other and had a lot of laughs and pints !!
I hadn´t talked to him for a long time but he was always part of my memories and background.
God bless you Bob he´ll look after you now

Bob I will always remember the first time I met you and my dog peed on your pant leg. I thought it hilarious but my sister was not amused. I will miss you and your quirky humour so much. Carol

Bob was a great soul. I have fond memories of conversations we had at various family gatherings over the years. I cherish my relationship with Bob, Beth and the rest of the Beeley family. You are in my thoughts, Brian Orr
