My deepest condolences to Marion and all the family. Bob was my first cousin once removed as he was my mother Hazel McClaughry's cousin. The last time I recall seeing him was in 1993 when we were traveling with my parents. His granddaughter Andrea and my daughter wrote for a few years but unfortunately lost touch with each other before the internet became big. Hazel and Andy (Mom & Dad) likely visited a few more times as they RVed east every summer until about 2001. I used to receive email updates from Bob but they stopped coming likely about the time they moved into the care home. Margaret still kept in touch until she passed which I learned the same way I learned of Bob's passing by searching for an obituary. With his passing I will have lost touch with the remaining Bennett family that is in Ontario and I only have one cousin still living in BC. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Dear Mrs. Bennett,
I am writing to express my deepest sympathies to you, and your family about the death of your husband, Robert Marchant Bennett.
While words do not provide adequate consolation for the loss of a loved one, please know that my colleagues and I at the Faculty are with you in our thoughts.
Sincerely,
Jim A. Nicell

Bob and Marion were long-time members of Heritage Ottawa who came out to support countless lectures, walking tours, and AGMs. I remember many conversations with them about the importance of preserving Ottawa's heritage buildings. They believed in their value for future generations.
On behalf of Heritage Ottawa, please accept our heartfelt condolences.
Warm regards,
Carolyn Quinn
