RIP Bob. It is so ironic that you died doing the thing you liked to do the most. I’ll never forget the day that you gave me your bike that was stolen after you found it somewhere. You got me interested in biking again. I was so proud of you when my parents told me you became a small town doctor. Just like you always told me you would do. Sounds like you gave unselfishly to people who needed your care. The world lost a caring doctor too soon.

Thank you for all your encouraging letters, phone calls, etc. Please keep them coming, they mean more than we can express to you.

It has been a long time since I came to birthday parties, cook outs or just simple get togethers, but I remember the fun times shared with all of you. It was nice getting to know all of you and Bob as well.I will never forget him, He was a very nice, funny and talented indivdual. I enjoyed knowing him and being around him. May he rest in peace forever and always with his soul on earth!~ Never forget all the the times shared together good & bad. Cherish all of these memories. You all are very strong individuals. stronger as one.. i have faith in you all and know you will get through this, take all the time in the world and know he is with you every step that you take! I have many fond memories of Dr. Bob that I will cherish forever. He was a wonderful boss, mentor and friend. I will miss his words of encouragement and especially him calling out "PamB" at the office. I will continue to make him proud in everything that I do for The Bernstein Hilliker Hartzell Eye Center - today, tomorrow and forever. To Nancy, Tamara, Charles, Brian and Nicholas - I know that each of you have many precious memories - reflect on them, keep them close to your heart and they will help you through the difficult days ahead.

Dr. Bernstein was a very caring and unselfish man. He took me under his wing and taught me about his experiences as a doctor without hesitation. I wish his family all the strength in dealing with his passing.

My sincerest sympathy goes out to Dr. Bernsteins family, friends, and co-workers. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

Although I did not get to know Dr. Bernstein very well, I was looking forward to working with him in the near future.

Our entire family wants to express our most sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Bernstein. He will truly be missed by all.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all, Dr. Bernstein's family, friends, community and to the staff at Evangelical Community Hospital.

Dr. "B.'s" contributions to WVIA will never be forgotten. We were able to witness the wonderful gift of sight he offered so generously.

Nancy and all, i received the news yesterday about bob's accident here in albania. i am far away but send you my deepest sympathies and will be in touch more personally very soon. my thoughts are with you as we have all lost a very good inspiration in our lives now that bob is gone.
