Hi Hub, I was here. Thinking about you and reading what everyone wrote about you. I sure miss you, your smile, your energy, your love. I wish things would have turned out differently for our lives together, but God has a plan. I know heaven is wonderful. Please hug and kiss Kayla, Macska, Jade, Liba, Grace, Joey, Ike, Hallie and Sophie for me. Losing Ike was almost as painful as losing you. :( Arthur and Goldie are hanging out again too. I retired almost 2 years ago. I couldn't handle the stress anymore and wanted to enjoy retirement with Tom. I think you would like him. We love each other and he is wonderful to me. Thank you if you had any say in that :) I love you 5,698,327. Forever. Wiftoes ps. We have a new kitty...his name is Zeke and you'd love him!

Robert, old friend,
Just heard you've departed...strong journey !!
Sounds like the loving family who remain were a part of of the bounty and beauty that was yours. Your gift to us.
As much else as could be said, simply "Fare thee well"

Jody, Heidi, Mae and Greta, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I was able to say hello to you on Sunday, but only briefly. I wanted you to know that I worked for Robert for three very intense (in a good way!) years, in 1982-84 and 1988. There are no words to express how grateful I am for what Robert gave me, in the way of opportunity, edcuation and fun. My only regret is that I didn't stay in touch after moving away. It sounds like he held on to all of the principles that I experienced during my short, but extremely memorable time with him.

Christie and I are thinking about you and Robert. Our eyes have been wet with tears all week. In your mourning, please try to celebrate Bergie's life. He was such a unique man. His office was priceless! Not many people have a machine gun on their desk... He stopped in Vitta before you left for Moab. He told me he was working less and was looking towards retirement with you. God bless you.

Robert, his own man---a wonderful man-- talented, gifted and unique. He has touched so many lives in a most wonderful way. He will not be forgotten.
Jodi, God bless you and your family.

Jody, I was deeply saddened to learn of your loss, and send my sympathies. When I think that heaven has gained and architect, and palm tree logos should be appearing shortly, I can find the strength to smile.

Years of memories of Robert - when he used to sit up front at St. Mike's in Lakeside with his young daughters...when he got caught with his buck knife going through security at the prison in Sandstone (always packing)...the birds that used to fly around his corner of the office on Michigan Street...the purple suit he wore to an interview at the Guard Base...and his laugh. We'll all miss him very much. Take care Jody.

Robert was the most talented architect I ever knew. For the past 2 years he was my mentor, boss, and friend. He helped me in so many facets of my life that I find it impossible to describe them here.
My thoughts go towards you Jody and Joey.

We lost our cousin, Bob, way too early. He has always been Bob to us, not Robert. We were so happy to see you both at Bill's 90th in January and still can't believe he is gone. I remember this blond kid running around, and only saw a few pictures of him as he grew up. It wasn't until he started coming to Hawaii that we got to really know and enjoy you both. Our condolences to you Jody and family. I'm sorry we won't be there but you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Aloha

My prayers go out to the family of Robert. He truly was a gift to all those he touched in his life. i always admired the fact he marched to the beat of his own drum. It made him unique - that's what makes a great architect. Will miss you.

Jody,
Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. May God give you comfort through Jesus Christ now and in the times ahead. Robert will be missed by all of us who worked with him and knew him as a friend and as a mentor. His legacy will continue on among us as design professionals. He stretched us all with his colorful character and always seemed to be 'ahead of the curve' in his thinking and how it played out in his life. I will always be indebted to him for hiring me back in 1985 at LHB and for the encouragement and the help he gave to me while preparing for my architectural registration design exam. He was a 'straight shooter' and could be trusted; something I always appreciated in him. I have many fond memories of Robert and am thankful that I had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you,
Alan and Alice Anderson

Robert was such a multi-faceted person and involved in so many lives. Such a fun-loving, interesting, happy guy. I smiled just seeing him walk into the office because he always made me laugh, and especially loved when he had Joey in tow. I cannot begin to understand the void he's left with you, Jody, Greta, Heidi, Mae, families and pets. But I know you have a lot of great stories :)
We will greatly miss Robert and always remember him. God bless,

Jody, my heart and my prayers are with you. I know you feel numbness, grief, pain, brokenness, and disbelief; and some of those at the same time. Your faith in God will be your rock and family and friends will support you. The love you and Robert shared will lift you even as it brings tears of loss. You are being prayed for by many and you are so loved!
