To the Landis Family - heartfelt sympathy in the loss of your father. His life was an amazing one and his memory will live on. Our thoughts are with you.

Bill, MaryAnn and the rest of the Landis family, I want to send you my sincerest sympathy. Reading theswe messages from the people whose lives he touched tells us all what a wonderful, kind many your dad was. My thoughts, prayers and love are with you all.

Bob,this morning we have to tell you AU REVOIR; this period is so difficult for us, because we are so far away but we would like to be with your family; yes,we can say " family" because you and us, know that you had a place very important in our family; our friendship began long time ago, in 1983...and at the end of your first visit in Normandy, we knew that we were FRIENDS; and the following visit, we welcome you at home, it was such a pleasure, we were so proud to have such friends; we will never forget your kindness when we visit you in California in 1987, a complete month to visit your country, you drove the car from part to part all along the roads, never say you can be tired; it was for us a dream to visit you, the first time we travel in a plane, and thanks to you we discover America! Each time you told us you wanted to come to Normandy, we were so pleased, we were looking forward to meet you; we had moments we will never forget, our friends were surprised when we spoke about OUR veteran, yes because you were OUR veteran, the Man we respect so much and who will stay forever in our memory; Bob, we have to stop here our history, which began 28 years ago; it was so true, so sincere; we were lucky that OUR veteran was modern in his mind and "spoke" with us very often on the computer! We will miss you so much but be sure that our friendship will go on because friendship will go on with your children, thanks to you!

je tiens à dire aurevoir à Bob qui pour moi a été notre liberateur, notre sauveur; j ai vecu la guerre, j avais 14 ans quand les Americains sont arrivés et c est quelque chose que je n oublierai jamais; ils nous ont permis d avoir un avenir, et notre vie a totalement changé; merci, je l ai dit souvent mais encore une derniere fois, Bob, et pour la derniere fois, MERCI, on ne vous oubliera jamais jamais

I do want to say good bye to Bob, who was for me our liberator, the soldier who saved us with his friends; I was here during the war, I was 14 when Americans soldiers arrived and it's a moment I will never forget; they gave us the possibility to have a future and our lives changed so much; thank you, I said that very often but , once more, Bob, and for the last time THANK YOU, we will never forget you, never, never

Malgré le fait de n'avoir partager que peu de moments ensemble, avoir fait ta connaissance fut un grand plaisir et une grande chance. Je te portais et te porte toujours beaucoup d'affection ainsi qu'un grand respect pour tout ce que tu as pu faire dans ta vie. Chaque année je continuerais d'aller au cimetière Américain pour te rendre hommage et rendre hommage à tous ces hommes qui se sont battus pour notre pays. Tu resteras gravé dans nos mémoires et dans nos coeurs. Repose en paix mon grand-père Américain.

In spite of the fact of having share only few moments together, to meet you was a big pleasure and a big chance. I carried you and always will carry you a lot of affection as well as a big respect for all that you made in your life. Every year I would continue to go to the American cemetery to pay you tribute and pay tribute to all these men who fought for our country. You will remain engraved in our memories and in our heart. Relaying in peace my American grandfather.

we were so sad when we knew Bob died
we consider him like a friend
he is a man we will never forget, because he was one of our liberators during the war
which would have been our live if American Army had not intervened to help us!! we don't want to imagine !!

Bob, you have been keenly missed at coffee. As you are aware that Ted can't do it all, so your absence is felt in a touching way. To your great family I say, "The best to you", because, Bob, you were such a great and admirable person that many in this world would envy.

this is a very special page we have to turn, Betty and Bob were so precious for us, a part of our family, a very big part of our history;
we spend together moments we will never forget, because a very very special friendship grew more and more; Bob was "our" veteran, we had a large respect for him, very proud to have such a friend! it's very difficult to be so far away, but the distance is not between us in our heart, we want to support all of you
